Hannah Tamary MD, a professor of Pediatrics. Trained in Pediatric Hematology Oncology in Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto and was a research fellow in Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Holds an Israeli Board certificate in pediatric hematology oncology. Since 1998 and until recently served as director of Pediatric Hematology in Schneider Children’s Medical Center of Israel. Currently is the head of Molecular Diagnostic and Research Laboratory in the same hospital. Main clinical interest: rare inherited anemias and inherited bone marrow failure syndromes and inherited predisposition to myelodysplastic syndromes. Main research interest: the role of codanin-1, the product of the mutated gene in congenital dyserythropoietic anemia type I, in erythropoiesis. Published more than 160 papers in peer reviewed journals. Member of the National Academy of Scientific Medicine.
